L.A.

After driving for many days we are finally in Los Angeles. We are having the time of our lives her. We are spending the days on the beach in Malibu and go shopping at Rodeo Drive. There are so many things to do and see in this city, but the biggest attractions are, of course the Hollywood sign and the walk of fame.

I have to return home soon so I’m just going to enjoy the last days as much as I can.

This trip has given me, together with my best friend some memorise for life.

In the middle of no were

I can’t deny that I’m living the ultimate American dream!

Yesterday I left New York and took the train to Boston. There I met my friend who is a collage student at Boston University. It was great to see here again, it has been over a year since we have seen each other, but it feels like she never left.

I got a tour on the campus, and I got to see how here days in Boston are. Boston University has many different collages and universities. The city is the center of higher education in the country, especially medicine.  It was founded already in 1839, and many famous people have graduated here, but Martin Luther King Jr. is probably the most famous.

After some lunch we left Boston in the car Kristin have rented for the summer. It’s a typical old American car, with a retro design and you can take of the ceiling if it’s nice weather, then.
Kristin and I always have a lot to talk about, and since it’s a year since I sew here last time, we had a lot to ketch-up on. All the way from Boston to Chicago we talk about things that have happened the last year, listening to old songs and eating junk food. When we come to Chicago we stopped and sew a movie on an open-air cinema, before we cheeked in on a hotel fore the night.

We have now started on route 66 to Los Angels, and we are experiences the wonderful and various nature from state to state, from the green and windy Missouri, to the open and flat landscape here in Texas.  We are now visiting some relatives’ here in Texas. I met them for the first time today. They were really nice, and the whole family gave us a worm welcome on their ranch. This evening they took us to see a football match, because their son is playing on a high school team. The evening is something I will remember for life, it was the ultimate American experience with cheerleaders, barbeque and American football.

An American dream

To day was the first day of my best summer ever. I landed on John. F. Kennedy airport in New York City this morning. It was a long flight, eight hours beside a young couple with they’re new born baby. But when I first got in a yellow cab and could see the skyscrapers in front of me, I forgot all about the eight long flight with the crying baby and the snoring man who sat behide me.

The city is one of a kind. I have been here before, but no other place in the world can you find so many different people and cultures melted together. What I love about the city is that you can find everything here, from millionaires to homeless, Upper east side to China town, and the best; The city NEVER SLEEPS! This is what fascinates me; the high buildings, the people and the unique atmosphere.

NYC is the biggest city in the Unites States with over 8,5 million inhibitions, surprisingly its not the capital. The capital of America is Washington D.C.

I have only one day here in NYC so I have to experience the whole city, and all the things it has to offer in only a few hours, but I think I can get a bite of the big apple anyway.

The first thing I did was going to the Empire State Building. It is the highest building in NYC. It’s 381 meters high and has 102 floors, 6500 windows and 73 elevators. Empire State Building was finished in 1931 and was then the first building with over 100 floors and the high building in the world. But it hasn’t always been the tallest building in town. Before September 11th 2001 World Trade Center was the tallest building in town, but after the terror attack Empire State Building is the highest building in town again.

It was a hot summer day so I was headed to a café fore a cold drink and some lunch. While I was waking in the streets down town, a policeman tells me that the street was closed because they were shooting a movie. I know at many movies and TV series took place inn NYC, actually there are over 100 different movies and TV series recorded in the city at anytime. But after a while I realized that this wasn’t any movie they were shooting when I see George Clooney waking down the street with the whole film crew with him. George Clooney is one of the biggest stars on earth, so it was kind of cool.

Now I’m going out for dinner and then later to Times Square, before I leave for Boston tomorrow.

An American dream

This summer one of my biggest dreams are coming true; I’m going to spend the entire summer in the U.S. together with one of my best friends, who is a collage student in Boston. We are going to drive across the country, all the way from Boston to L.A. On our way to LA we going to drive though 15 of the 50 states.  Al the 50 different states are represented in the American flag, the stars and the stripes. In the left corner, there are 50 stars, one for each state.

First I’m flying to New York City and the next day meting Kristin in Boston. Together we are going to drive an old, typical American car to Chicago and then we are driving the famous route 66 al the way to Los Angeles.
We are also going to visit some relatives of me, who moved to the states over 60 years ago. I have never met them before so I’m a bit nervous.

My bags are packed and tomorrow I’m hopefully in the United States of America.
